Haus of Bird

I've started the framework for Haus of Bird! It's a very exciting project that will be launching Spring 2011. So far, I've added Amanda Giroux to my makeup and hair team. I'm still looking for additional stylists, fashion designers, set designers, prop builders, etc. Please contact me if you're interested in collaborating.

On the set of 'Sacrifice'

On April 9, my friend and I met Cuba Gooding Jr. and saw Christian Slater. You can see us in this video at about the 6:40 mark. You can see a picture of me with Cuba in one of my earlier blogs here.

Photography Graduation 2010

A short video the teachers made of us during our graduation. I pop up around the 0:35 mark. It's my second time graduating from a college but this one felt really important to me. It was a culmination of two hard years and gave me a big sense of accomplishment.

I would also like to take a minute to thank my professors: Jason Machinski, Denine Wrixon, Michael Bowie, Garry Carter, Jonathon Harrington and Andrew Balfour. These professors are all fantastic in their own way. I learned so much from each of them and I'm grateful for my experiences.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! All the best to you in the future!

2nd Year Portfolio Drop Off

The last hectic day of the year aside from Exhibition. You can see me running in around the 0:50 mark. It's still amazing to think how much I accomplished on such little sleep. As much as you can try and prepare for the deadline, there are always last minute improvements to be made. Nothing beats working under pressure!

Elevator Digital

On April 20th, Bob Carnie from Elevator Digital in Toronto sponsored the student competition, Negative Space. Over the Christmas Break, the 2nd year students were commissioned to shoot images that incorporated negative space. Bob, along with his wife and two dogs, took time to give a talk on printing, photography, and the future of the imaging industry. Unfortunately, I didn't win this competition but it was a great experience. I was in the top 10 and recognized so that was a nice surprise. I learned so much from Bob and it got me into the swing of competitions. There's so much to learn about the art of printing and archiving.

Cheri & Robert - Wedding

Today, I had the honour of photographing Cheri and Robert's traditional Scottish wedding. Unfortunately, due to the nonstop rain we had to keep the photo session indoors. I would like to thank them for allowing me to shoot their intimate moment and congratulate them on their special day.

Algonquin College Photography Exhibition 2010

It's that time of year again! It's the Algonquin College Photography Exhibition! There is so many great pieces of photography from first and second year students. I'm really excited to be a part of it and showcase two framed 16x20" prints. I have my sights set on a few awards so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. My family and friends are also visiting so it's going to be so much fun! I hope to see you all there!

Hello Diana

I went to Toronto for a few days this week and I had an amazing time. I did some lomography, visited some friends and did a little shopping. I've been eyeballing this Diana F+ Deluxe Set for a while so I figured it was the perfect opportunity to buy it. It's a happy graduation present to myself. I'm looking forward to playing with my new toy and experimenting with film again.
