New Website!

I guess it's been a while since I've written a decent post. I've just been busy working, shooting and enjoying the summer. I purchased my website a couple weeks ago. I'm very excited about it! I've been working on the layout, building my galleries and trying to figure out what to put on it. It's been a few years since I played around with web sites so I'm feeling a little rusty. I have a skeleton built for it and now I'm just adding the content. I'm staying away from Flash at the moment. Not really a big fan and it would probably take much longer to launch my site doing it that way. I've been studying CSS again and it's been fun. Well, it's about as fun as it can be. I'm not quite as frustrated with it anymore, which is good. I'm hoping to have it fully functional within the next week or so. That's the plan, anyway. I debated switching my blog over to Wordpress but may nix that idea. I'll probably just re-design this one and incorporate it into the site.

I've also been really struggling lately with what I want this blog to be. I figure people read blogs because it's of interest to them for whatever reason. I've always tried to approach it in an honest way and show a little about the person behind the camera. I think it would be a tad boring if it was just like "Hey! Check out this picture! I'm awesome! Buy my prints!" If I have a great shoot then I'll put it here and vice versa. For example, I accidentally flattened a twenty layer file or came close to chucking my laptop out the window. You know, that type of thing. Anyway, we'll see. I seem to change my mind a lot about designs, etc. I also plan to post more videos, links and interesting stuff I find on the Internet. I've posted music videos in the past because that's what I'm into at that moment. I find music to be extremely influential on my work. Photography and music just seem to go together very well, in my opinion. I guess that's why I've always been interested in making short videos in the future. I'm getting ahead of myself, though. One step at a time.

I should hopefully have my small flash in a few weeks. I'm extremely anxious to buy it. I've also been doing a little window shopping for a new camera but I'm not sure what my budget is at the moment. I would like to have a new one by the end of the summer before school starts again. I currently own a Nikon D80 but I've been finding lately it's just not cutting it. I absolutely love night photography and the pictures are coming out too grainy for my taste.
