Today is the final day before portfolios are due. I just spent an hour doing some quick touch-ups and I think I'm going to re-print a few pictures. I spent many hours last night re-editing my low key portrait. I'm much happier with the results now. The background is a lot cleaner and overall I think it looks much better than the original. Low key was definitely the most frustrating to edit out of all of the prints. I lightened my high key, self-directed, macro and interior architecture. I tend to like my images a little on the dark side but I don't know how well that will go over with marking. One of the most frustrating parts of art portfolios is they're so subjective. I mean you can be marked on basic stuff like editing, print quality, exposure, etc. But the rest is really your own creative vision. If I like something and my teachers don't then I'm going to lose marks. But if all of our portfolios looked the same it would be rather pointless and not our own style. I also spent a part of last night making my splash pages. They're simple but nice I think. I'm a little irritated that my portfolio book is getting scratched up. I had a bit of an issue removing the spine. I printed out my model release last night, as well. So today will be spent editing, re-printing, re-shooting metal and organizing my digital files to be dropped in the drop box tomorrow. I still have quite a bit to do and I think it's going to be a long day. I need to go get ready for school now. Wish me luck!
Today I need to kill it! Give me energy and patience!
